About Angel
Hello, I'm Angel, a chocolate Labrador Retriever. I was born in May 17, 2018. I have a personality! I'm sassy, wild, feisty, curious, happy and very lovable. My mothers name is Dakota, and she was part of the New Life team until she became a breeder.
From Angel's Handlers
"After Hope left, I never imagined that I would love another dog the way I loved her. What we shared was beyond special. Angel has changed al that for me. I'm blessed to have loved, lost, and then loved again. Thank you New Life K9s!" -Richie

This is Angel again! School has been going great and I'm continuing to learn service dog skills. I've been having fun choosing between yellow and blue bottles. It's even more fun to pick one up after opening a cabinet and then giving it to either Richie or Jose. I feel very helpful! As always, I have so much fun swimming on the weekends!

Hey everyone! I just got spayed earlier this month. So that happened! I've been recuperating from the surgery. My mom has been taking good care of me. When I returned to Richie and Jose, (my dog handlers), they also took good care of me. I feel loved by the people whom I love. I can't wait to play with all my buddies and pals. It's been awhile!

Summertime’s here! You know what that means? More time in the pool. I love the water! This month I’ve been working on helping my handlers up when they fall. I run up to them and they use me to brace. I’m learning different ways to be of help and it’s fun. One day, all of these skills will be used to change a life forever. I’ll catch up with you next time!

Hey there! For many months I’ve been opening doors to get my humans, canine pals, and items I want to reach. I’ve recently learned how to close doors with my nose. With my puppy parents, I’ve been going to ALL sorts of places, like the movies and doctor’s office. Plus, I got to meet new animals in Avila Beach. It’s so much fun! Come back for another update next month! Wishing you lots of tail wags!

Hi everybody! I hope you had a fun St. Patricks Day! This month I've been working on helping my human unzip his shirts. It's pretty fun sometimes- maybe helping others is my calling. But I'm still a puppy, so don't hold me to it. Besides working on my skills, I've also been really enjoying my purple squeaky ball that the dog father (Lieutenant Noland) recently gave me. It's super fun! Well, that's all for now, come check back in with me next month!

Hi everyone, Happy Valentine’s Day! I love this holiday since I’m such a love bug. This
month I’ve been doing a lot of alert training. It’s a fun way to tell my handler what I want. I
haven’t been on any outings because of all the rain, but I’m hoping to be out and learning
more new skill soon. I’ll write more next month to let you know how I’m doing!February 2019 Update

Hi everyone, it's Angel! Can you believe I've already been here at CMC for six months?! Time is flying by! This month I got the chance to meet the new puppy Ned. I sniffed him a bunch to really check him out. I've also been working on strengthening my emergency recall phrase "Return!". When I'm out playing and chasing my teach will call "Return!", and I'll come running. I've really been enjoying walking and playing in the rain. As my teacher says, "A muddy dog is a happy dog". Well, that's all for now, see you guys next month!

Hello everyone! I’m Angel, a six month old, chocolate lab puppy. Right now I’m currently working on tugging open doors, and, I have to say, I’ve gotten pretty good at it. I'm also really great about walking on a loose leash. When I'm with my handler I always like to stay close by. That way I can check in on them and be there to make sure everything is okay! I'll tell you guys more on how I'm doing later, so make sure to check in again next month!

SEPTEMBER 2018 UPDATE
Hi everybody! I am the only Chocolate Lab in the New Life K9s program right now, I feel so special. Now that I am four months old I get to go out into what they call ‘the real world’. I am so excited for whatever that means. I also have met my new and forever puppy raiser! She is so awesome and we have so much fun together. When we got to her house she showed me her pool, I was amazed they make pools so big my feet don’t touch the bottom. I hopped right in, didn’t even used the steps I loved it so much! Check in with me next month to hear about all the new places I will be visiting!

Since we’ve been going to the chow hall, I’ve been learning how to settle down, relax, and be unobtrusive while my humans are eating their meals. It hasn’t been easy since there are such delicious smells in the air, but I’m trying my best to be well mannered. Despite that I am an awesome puppy and love to cuddle.
