About Buddy
My name is Buddy! I'm an English Lab from Arizona, born April 7, 2019 with a light yellow coat and light curly hair. My teacher says I'm easy-going and very loving.
From Buddy's Handlers
"Buddy, The Buds, my little boy... you've been with me since you were just a puppy and, as you are growing, I've also been growing. I've discovered things about myself while raising you which is priceless... now I understand a parents love for their child... without a doubt, you've peeled very thick layers of callous off of my heart. I love you, Buddy." -Sunny

November 2020 Update
As the holidays near, I’m full of so much cheer and I want to jump on everyone to give them love. I’m learning to stay on the ground when I greet people. Everyone seems really happy when I calm walk up to say “hello” and I really enjoy being petted by my human friends. I’m learning that I can’t have a bite of what everyone is eating. They let me know “no begging”, but the food smells so good! I’m getting better with not asking for food, but I still have some work to do!

Hello everyone,
This month I have been working on relaxing and just chilling. I've been so eager to get to work that I've been forgetting to take the time to just sniff the rose. During the heatwave of this month I have been pool side with the girls. I've been on a nice break.
My favorite game to play is hide and seek. I love it so much! I also like to play tug and run around with the other dogs. I also love all treats! Well until next time!

August 2020 Update
Hello evryone!
I hope that everyone is well with their family and that everyone is staying safe and sound during these hard times. I'm doing well and have been spending a lot of time with my handlers. I am getting ready to have new handlers so that will be interesting! I think this will help me be more versatile and it will be awesome. I've been doing a good job at anticipating what my handlers need before they even ask me. You should see the look on their faces when I do it!
Well I hope everyone is sound and safe. Don't forget to wear your masks when out in public!

Hi everyone,
I've been learning so much from my buddies Sunny and Mike. I learned to put items in a box! I've also been trying my best to express myself with barking when it is ok to do so. Lately I've been crawling under benches for fun.

Hey family and friends, I'm back! I write this in hopes that everyone is OK and safe. I hope we are all washing out hands, as well as wearing our masks! Now, as for me, I'm doing great! I've recovered from my surgery and I'm able to play with my family and friends now. I've learned how to crawl under a bench like my buddies Sunny and Mike and I'm also gaining more confidence with cats now because I was very unsure of them at first. But I'm still waiving my tail kindly to them and letting them know that I come in peace. Friends and family, you'll hear from me once again and hopefully this pandemic will resolve! See you later!

Hello friends! It's been a while! I'm glad to be able to give you an update during our country's struggles with COVID-19. But cheer up because your best buddy is here! I am currently working on magnificent manners as well as retrieving and alert. I have fun doing skills and manners but I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I am a year old now! Happy birthday to me! I was given gifts (food) and played and enjoyed my special day. Thank you all for the birthday wishes and stay safe and as healthy as possible! Miss you all, take care!
April 2020 Update

Hi! I'm back friends! Hope you liked my last update! As for me, I'm almost going to turn a year old (April 7th). I've really been maturing in my behavior and skills. I've learned how to help my people Sunny and Mike when I'm asked to go get help. I've also been learning how to retrieve medicine from the medicine cabinet and give it to Sunny. I've locked in the difference between 'my walk' and 'Sunny's walk.' It's pretty cool when Sunny has to follow me! Until next time, enjoy your week and also, get ready for summer! I'm shedding my winter coat!

Hi! I'm happy to update you all about my progress and how well I've been doing. So far I can open and close doors, alert my handlers for help and get help. I've also been helping a lot of dogs with their confidence as well because that is what is needed to be a great service dog. Something new I've been learning is putting items into tubs and boxes and I'm going really well! I think. HaHaHa OK friends I'll talk to you soon, have fun and enjoy yourselves!

Hey, what's up world! I'm excited to give you an update on my journey and experiences I've had to becoming a great service dog. I've recently learned how to put my jolly ball in a crate/basket, as well as having magnificent manners when I am out and about in public or in my community. I recently went on a trip with my handler Sunny, my big brothers, little sister, and New Life K9s team members to another prison to socialize with officers and staff. Everyone was happy to come say hello and we all displayed those magnificent manners, which is what everyone was so impressed with. It was great! Until next time, thank you for keeping in touch!
