About Dazzle
My name is Dazzle. I am a Golden Retriever who lives with 11 labradors. My best Friend is Cole, a Yellow Lab who is closest to me in age. We like to wrestle, chase and play tug together. Being part of NLK9s is awesome; I get showered with love and attention all day. My favorite toys are a stuffed moose and a stuffed carrot.

From Dazzle's Handlers
"With Team Dazzle I learned to be patient while being with her because she is still a puppy of 5 months and very very energetic and happy, but our bond was not as strong as mine and Curtis at the time, but now that I’ve been able to spend time with her more than before, we’re finally bonded and I am happy to see her just as I can see it in her eye that she is happy to see me as well. It is a great and joyful feeling. I’m proud of my dogs and I’m hoping they can make somebody else happy just like myself." -Sunny Sihavong
"Dazzle has taught me that even when things are daunting or overwhelming they can be overcome with persistence and patience." -William

Hello everyone! It's Dazzle from New Life K9's. A senior ranking Golden Retriever, well except for Hercules of course. I'm doing great :) I'm getting ready for my new job at SLO PD as a therapy dog. I'm really excited to be working with the brave folks in blue. I know I look really good in blue :)

Hello it's Dazzle! I'm getting ready for the holidays by losing a little weight to regain my figure. :) I will be flying to Maryland with Kelly and I'm really excited about flying agin. I'm a pro now. Getting ready for my jabot the SLO PD and loving the weather. There is always lots of wind during this time and wind equals sticks falling to the ground and I LOVE STICKS <3

This is Dazzle, I've been great getting ready for my new job at the San Luis Obispo Police Department. Lately, I've been spending more time with Kelly and SLO which has been awesome. I had a funny Halloween costume it was a horse saddle with a bear on it. It was cool. I'm looking forward to next Halloween. I want to wear a bear or lion costume :)
I spent this time preparing for my future career as a therapy dog. I've been offering plenty of smiles and love to everyone that greets me. And I let them touch my super soft, pretty fur, everyone loves my fur :)

Dazzle here! I'm doing just great. My little brother, (he's in the picture), had a surgery this week so I will spend some extra time with my friends at CMC. I've been playing with Bobbi and she is a lot of fun and way more confident at her age than I was. I'm really proud of her. We're going to meet Jennifer Arnold this week and I'm so excited! She wrote the book on Bond-Based Teaching Philosophy, which is what our dog handlers use to teach us how to be a service dog.

Hi my name is Dazzle! My favorite thing in the whole world is being petted. Recently, I took a bath and felt so clean that I wanted to dance. And of course, I got extra pets. I visited the San Luis Obispo police department and I loved the whole experience. I can't wait to move in and be a police dog. I wonder if they're going to give me my own badge!

Hey y’all! It’s me, Dazzle! I have been very busy this month. I have been working on improving my positive associations and practicing patience while being in different locations. I just love playing so much, but William (my handler) always makes sure to remind me that there is a time for play, and that time is not during work. I also went to the vet a little while ago, and now I am feeling much better. Everyone has been telling me that I’m a brave girl, and I think they might be right.
April 2019 Update

Hi everybody! This is Dazzle checking in. I've been working on "go get help", "numbers" and continued positive associations with traffic. The smaller cars don't scare me anymore, but those big monster ones are still really scary. My parents assure me that there is nothing to be afraid of, but I don't know about that. They seem to sound loud and angry when they get closer to me. My parents are being patient with me and helping me see that they don't mean me any harm. I'm sure I'll see it from their point of view in time.
March 2019 Update

Hi! My name is Dazzle. I’m eight months old and working on my self-confidence. Certain sounds and objects still make me nervous, but my teachers have been so patient. They are always there to assure me that those things are not scary. I’ve been working on doing lots of positive associations, leash walking, exposure to different stimuli, and confidence building exercises. Some of the things that I love to do are fetching “Kong Krinkle Balls”, wrestling with the 11 labs I live with, and just running around having fun!

Hi everyone! It’s me, Dazzle. I just got back from a long trip to the East Coast with my mommy. I had a great time! I got to fly high in the sky inside of something called a “plane”. It was so exciting to get to experience so many new things and make a bunch of new friends! I was a little nervous at times, but I was able to overcome my fears and focus on my confidence. Since I got back, I have been reunited with my beloved Will, Hector, and my absolute favorite kong crinkle ball! I hope you all have an awesome month and I'll talk to you later!

Hello Dazzy checking in, I wanted to let everyone know how I've been doing. Well, I've been doing great! I'm learning numbers 1,2,3. My favorite number is 3 because it means more ball, hugs, kisses and treats. Number 1 is cool, but I like 3 better. I've been playing with our new little friend Faith. She likes to climb on top of me and chew on my fur. She is so small I have to be extra gentle with her, I want to send my congrats to Robbie for his graduation soon. I love fetching my purple kong ball.

Hi friends and supporters! Thanks for checking back in with me, Dazzle, Dazzy for short! I am 6 months olds this month and 60 lbs. Apparently I am one of the biggest dogs here and still will be when I grow up. I love being a NLK9s student, I am learning so many new things. My humans are always amazed because they didn’t realize how smart a dog can be. This month I have been working on my patience, this is a word they use in many different times and places. Like they ask me to be patient before going outside, when I am getting too excited over food, or whenever I am ready to get up and leave somewhere before they are. I also have been playing this game of tug-o-war, which is really fun. One day, they tied our tug-o-war toy onto a door and they got me so excited I opened the door! I like playing that game. Well my friends Cole and Angel are calling me to play, got to go! Check in with me next month to hear about all that I have been learning.
