About Finn
Hello, my name is Finn (short for Finnegan). I'm named after a character name Finn from the Adventures of Tom Sawyer. From what I am told, trouble followed him. Trouble does not follow me, I am cuddly. Finn the character would rather go fishing than do his chores, I, on the other hand, sink my teeth into everything I can a leave it for my human buddy to put away. Finn the character didn't listen to his Aunt, while I do things to make sure my handler is staying on "the phone" with me to strengthen our bond. Finn the character took part in ruining the paint on a white fence, I only bite off the netting on the bottom of a soccer goal post. The only thing Finn the character did was explore in his raft, as I do on my sniffy walks.
If you ask me, I'm more like James Bond. I am doing a service for my country. I am brave, daring, courageous, a risk taker, and lovable! :) Well, this is what Ernie, my human handler, says and always reminds me of how everyone will soon know it. I believe him because he seems to be different to and we are doing great together.
So in the meantime, I will keep preparing and looking forward to my weekend furloughs and outings as the bigger dogs get to take part in an come back wildly excited. Until then, I will continue playing and teaching these three skinny brothers (labradoodles) how to wrestle.
I'll be exploring, searching, and sniffing the world,
The real Finn

Ruff, ruff guys! What's up? Here we are again after another month has passed us up. I continue to get bigger and lovable. :)
Continuing from where we left off last time today I want to introduce Ernesto to you all also. He has weird stuff on his face but he is cool like my dad (handler) Ernie. I hope Ernesto doesn't think he had to write the numbers on his face in order for me to learn them. If he did he skipped the 2 but I already know it.Finn: Ernesto, how did you learn about the "Puppyville Academy?"
Ernesto: It was built in my neighborhood so it interested me to join it.
F: What do you like most about the academy?
E: That we're helping you handsome dogs to become service dogs.
F: What do you mean handsome dogs? I'm the only brown one with green eyes.
E: Finn let me reference that you're one of the most handsome dogs around here.
F: In closing, what is the most rewarding experience you've had so far with the program? And where do you see yourself in the future?
E: The most rewarding experience has been to be a part of Team Finn. Ernie and Finn have really made me feel worthy of one day becoming a future primary. I see myself in the future taking a big role within the New Life K9s program.
F: With that, we close it today guys. Keep the faith. Ernie says to practice social distancing so we can get back to normal. From us here until next time, ruff, ruff, ruff, ruff!June 2020 Update

Ruff, ruff, what's up guys? It's that time of the month again. I'm out here enjoying the sun in the Academy's playground with Ernie (my dad and mentor) and Ernesto (also my buddy and mentor). It's starting to get hot guys, so stay hydrated!
It's been a long month we have been staying in. No one has been able to come or go. I really miss going out to my sisters and brothers. Ernie tells me it should be ending soon. Both Ernie and Ernesto tell me, "can't wait until they take you for the weekend buddy," with a big grin. :)
One of the fun things we've been doing is a lot of exercises. Also, guys, I got into my first scuffle with one of the big dogs. He jumped on me for no reason so I defended myself. :) Ernie and Ernesto tell me it's OK to defend myself but not to be a bully. I asked if I could be a bully during playtime. They said no. Just kidding, guys. Well, it's hot out so I have to go find some shade. Until next time, be safe and keep your social distance. Ruff, ruff, ruff!

Ruff, ruff guys! Here we are yet again. Am I sure glad! This month has been crazy. All movement has been stopped and no one can leave the Academy on weekend passes. My dad (Ernie) says it's OK! It's an opportunity for all of us to practice safety and creativity. So we've been working on walking exercises with distractions, green/red light, "freeze," etc... oh! And guess what guys? Remember I told you I was going to get an operation on my eyes? Well, I got it on both eyes. So it's been a crazy 2 weeks for me. I came back with shaved eyes and a big cone over my head. At first, all the dogs were scared to get near me. They thought I looked crazy (like a martian) but eventually, they realized it was me and began making jokes, like... if I was going to be a model for Halloween or if I got good reception with my dish. :) It's OK! I'll get them back when I'm able to play with everyone again. Before I go I want to say "hi" to my sister Pink and everyone. I miss you guys and we will play soon... until next time, please take care, wash your hands, and God bless ya'll! Ruff, ruff!

Ruff, ruff, what's up guys! It's my, Finn, your favorite green-eyed chocolate Lab. :) This month has been crazy! It started off with me having an accident in mom's car (my puppy parent)—as most of you know, I LOVE water, so I didn't realize how much I drank until it was too late... oops! Sorry! Then I was told by Ernie all weekend passes have been suspended until further notice by the Academy Administrator (bummer!) I already miss the sights, smells, and sounds, but especially my playtime with Pink and my other brothers. Needless to say, guys! I was not happy but Ernie has found ways to keep me learning and focused. So this takes up my time when I am not thinking of treats, treats treats. :) Seriously, when my dad (Ernie) explained to me about the virus that we can't see, he and Ernesto (my Academy uncle) showed me how we can all win. They say we have to keep it away, so I have used my voice to scare it (ruff! ruff! ruff!) Ernie tells me that by being really clean and staying away from others, it will go away. But I like to roll and wrestle with my brothers and sisters. I'm getting better though, so I ask all of you to please be safe and as dad says, be responsible, practice "sheltering in place" and "social distancing" so we can go back to normal. I promise I will not party or go clubbing either! Until next time... take care, everyone!

Ruff, ruff... guys! It's that time of the month again so it's me Finn taking on these radio (or T.V.?) waves... I don't' know... but I do know it's my "Pawcast" to give you an update on how and what I've been doing. Where do I begin? What did I tell you last? I don't remember but let me tell you about my big sister Pink. She taught me how to wrestle; she walks up close to the couch, (she thinks I'm sleeping), and when she didn't suspecting it, I fly off of it and land on her. Like I said, she taught me how to wrestle! I still get to swim at my mom's house too. Mom keeps telling me it's a "waterer" but it feels more like a swimming pool to me. While at mom's house I got to go to a farm and see other animals. It was fun but they didn't have my eyes. I've been able to go to a few places and restaurants. Seeing new things was fun. But guys I also had to go to the doggy doctor. My eye had an infection. Mom tells me they might have to operate on my eyes. I hope not! So please pray for me. On better news guys, I'm not a superstar. I had this famous producer from the academy come out and record me going to playtime and doing a walking exercise with my handler. My handler says I may need an agent now so I don't know guys, you might see my on T.V. soon. Oh! Oh! I gotta go mom is here to pick me up. Until next time, ruff, ruff, ruff!

Ruff, ruff, everybody, remember me... it's me Finn. I began my first "Pawcast" last month. I left telling you about my big sister or as some would say my doggy pawner in crime. What I didn't get to tell you is that we had brought down the Christmas tree. Mom had to raise it for us not to get to it, but that was last month. This month I had a lot going on also... I had a big accident and almost went to heaven, a big door almost ate my paw. If it wasn't for my dad, who grabbed me right away, it hurt so much!! but I stopped feeling it when someone gave me some really, really, really yummy chicken! :P I limped for a couple of days, but I like to play with the big dogs so I couldn't let it stop me. Speaking of big dogs, I think I'm one of them now, I'm starting to loose all my little teeth. I don't know what magic my dad used, but he put my lat tooth to fall under the pillow and the next day I had a lot of good doggie treats, so I can't wait for the others to fall! :) This month, I've gotten to go home with Mom every weekend and boy has I been fun fun fun! I have taken a trip to my Mom's local doggy park. All the different scents from the grass to the trees were great! On occasion, I smell something different on the ground but I won't get into that! I was taken on an "outing" as Mom and Kate called it. I must have done real good with my manners because I was rewarded with going to a big doggy store... Mom took pictures! Last of, for this month, guys, I don't know if you know, but I'm a real good swimmer. I didn't even know! I found out at Mom's hose. She has this waterer size of an ocean so I ha to splash splash splash! Ok, folks until next month I will continue looking for the next adventure to share... so from me and Dad ruff, ruff, ruff. Hah Hah, Haaah!
January 2020 Update

Before I begin, I ask that you be patient with me. I'm little and I've never done this before, so I am a tiny bit confused... Until yesterday, I didn't know what media was. I now know it's a place that I can have a voice. My dad (that's what I call Ernie now, we have a bon that passes everything!!) tells me. He cannot help me here because it's my time with the world (that's a lot of people). I can share with you whatever I want... Dad says just be myself and share what I am thinking. I like the idea, but I can't just do that because all I daydream about is treats, treats, treats... I love treats!
So, I'll start by sharing with you that I didn't think leaving my real parents was going to be this fun!! The last few months have been the most exciting ever!! I have learned a lot and been spoiled by everyone... I give people the look (my innocent, green puppy eyes) and they act real, real nice. I heard someone say once that I melt their hearts, I didn't know a heart could melt? [confused look, head tilts sideways]. So, I try to be easy with my look because I don't want people to start melting. :)
Although the time I've been away from my birth parents has been fun, fun, fun, this month people call December has been the best this far because... [Ernie interrupts and whispers something to Finn] Oh! Oh! I'm sorry everyone, got so excited I started rambling on, forgetting my manners... sorry I'm a puppy :) Please allow me to properly greet you all and invite you into my journey on, what I will call, my monthly "Paw Cast."
Ruff, ruff, everyone! Hope you all had a great holiday, a nice warm and cozy house filled with big trees, a lot of dogs to play with, and presents to receive. Also, in Britain they would say may you have enjoyed, "crumpets and tea" by the fireplace. Here we say may you have enjoyed a warm egg nog and pumpkin pie (oh! it smells so good) by the fireplace... this is for the big people. :)
Ok! Ok! Back to my story, let me tell you why this has been the best month ever! Well, the month started off like the others (my teaching lessons with dad, playing with my brothers and sisters, and following the rules of this "puppyville academy), but people began to show signs of excitement (or like dad says eager anticipation) for the events called Christmas and New Year's.
The Best excitement for me started when I finally got a weekend furlough (like the big dogs) to go home to my new mommies (Vona and Bri). I behaved so good and gave them "the look." That I was allowed to stay 10 days... Don't forgot, this is through Christmas, so the excitement everyone was feeling I also felt. Dad say's it's "contagious."
It was fun, fun, fun! I got beautiful presents, like a big teddy bear that I took naps on. My own porcelain bowl to eat my kibble and a bunch of other chew toys, so when I get the weird feeling in my mouth. I even learned how to swim in the automatic waterer, my brothers Rowan and Parker didn't like this very much because I splashed water on their crazy hair (they're labradoodles). But they can tell you about this on their "Paw Cast."
I also got to lay with my big sister Pink... boy! She's tough! So let me tell you about Pink and how I knocked down the Christmas tree...
Oh! oh! They just announced the 6:30 PM playtime, so I gotta go, so to be continued... and stay tuned to "Finn's Adventures" on my monthly Paw Cast. Until then! Ruff, ruff, ruff, soft yelp, ruff, ruff, ruff (Season's greetings, with love and a happy New Year) -Finn
December 2019 Update

In my short 10 weeks of life, I've realize there is something different about me. I have green innocent eyes and a chocolate covered coat that everyone seems to want to touch. There was something else that kept nagging t me because I look nothing like the other dogs I am currently in the academy with. :) So I took the test, 23 and me, following ancestral lineage. I found out that, although my lineage has been refined through good breeding, my roots fin place in an island county across the Atlantic called Great Britain.
Knowing I am of British decent confused me being name after a character name Finn from the Adventures of Tom Sawyer. From what I am told, trouble followed him. Trouble does not follow me, I am cuddly. Finn the character would rather go fishing than do his chores, I, on the other hand, sink my teeth into everything I can a leave it for my human buddy to put away.
