About Gregor
Hi, I'm Gregor 2.0, I am the second New Life K9s doggie to be named after a great hero warrior. I like to chill and relax more so than my friends. I have an older brother in the program named Quinn. I like to play with my toy squirrel. Oh, and I was born in January 2, 2018.
From Gregor's Handlers
"Gregor has taught me to value my relationships with friends and family. To be kind to all, and really focus my energy on those I Iove." -Chris

Hi there! It's Gregor again. This summer I conquered Boot Camp. I met new veterans and first responders that need a service dog. Well, I found a match! I am now a service dog to my veteran, Stacy. I love her! I am so excited for the journey ahead!

Gregor here. Know what's really hard? Not jumping to say "hi" to people. There are just some people I love so much that I can't help but jump on them to say "hi." But I guess that's not socially acceptable. Anyways, I'm working on it. Also, when I'm asked, I've been practicing walking behind whoever is holding my leash. It's used for walking through crowded environments and tight spaces. That way, people don't tangled in my leash or get all huffy if I'm in their way. You know how cat people are. My brother Cole has almost finished recovering from his elbow surgery and I am really excited to play with him again. He likes all the things I like: jollyball, tug, treats, being cute, treats, hanging out, and more treats. We get along pretty well.

Hey everybody! It's me, your favorite, best behave, handsomest labrador retriever ever. Lately, I've been practicing picking up my leash. Personally, I'd rather walk without one, but sometimes my person drops it and wants me to help him. Know what's actual kind of tricky? Closing a door with your nose. Yeah, I'm great at closing doors with my paws, but these smaller cabinet-like doors can be a little fragile, so I'm supposed to use my nose. I'd rather see better craftsmanship, but what do I know? I'm just a future service dog. :P I really love playing search. Toys, treats, people; it's all fun. I got a lot of sniffing power packed in this little schnauz and I like to put it to use. Milkbone in the grass? Forget about it. Squeaky pink elephant in the teaching room? He can't hide. I can't wait until my next search.

This month I have been practicing "go get help!" It's something I learned a while ago, but I'm just tightening it up so I can do it effortlessly when I need to. I've also been getting better at finding things with my nose and bringing them to people. You know, like medicine, shoes, my leash, my harness, things like that. I got really cool toys for Christmas and for my birthday, which was on January 2nd. I love my new jolly ball and my KONG frisbee flies so nice. I love to just grab it out of the air! Plus, I got tons of tasty treats. Thanks Curry, Capt. Fernandez, Garcia, and Shubin! I'm stoked for 2020, this is my year!

This month I am focusing on my core, fundamental skills. I can move pretty quick when I want to, so I like practicing emergency recall. Also, it can be dangerous out there, so I'm brushing up on "freeze" in case I need to be stopped in a hurry. Besides that, really working on my self-control, part of my magnificent manners. I've been hanging out with Jenni and playing with her this month. She's a little rascal and she keeps me on my toes. I love this rainy weather, especially what it does to the dirt when me and my friends get in the mud, we don't want to leave! Check out this picture of me and my best buds hiking up Madonna!
December 2019 Update

I'm really close to graduating and I'm just brushing up on the things I know and tightening my game up. A these human dog educators have been helping me and I'm really appreciative because I want to make a veteran or first responder very happy. Anyway, I had a really fun Halloween. My friend made me the coolest Frankenstein costume. It was the best out of everyone's! then my puppy parent, Sara, took me out so I could show it off. I love Halloween.
This month, I have been practicing skills that I learned a long time ago, and doing them a little differently. So where I used to help people stand up, now I'm helping them walk up stairs. I'm also teaching some of the younger puppies the skills I've learned. I don't like to toot my own horn, but I know a few things. :P Goodbye poop parties, hello puddle splashing! I'm a water dog, so it's all good to me, even the rinse-off. I love the changing seasons!

It's me, Gregor! I am so happy because all my friends are clear of kennel cough and we are all off quarantine! I have been learning and prating skills with my buddies, which keeps me motivated. Dancer and Blitzen showed me their awesome door tug and retrieval. Faith is teaching me how to jump on people's laps and pretend I'm a baby, (humans want the weirdest things). I go to play with Paulina again for the first time in months. She's my best friend and she shows it by chasing me, latching onto my neck and pinning me to the ground. I love her!

This is Gregor barking at you! I'm perfecting the way I "go get help" for people. These humans can be quite needy and they frequently ask me to get other humans to help them. So I oblige; and why wouldn't I? I love them and I love to be of service. You know what's funny about these humans? They always lose their socks and shoes and often ask me to find them and bring them. Well, nose work is one of my specialties and a favorite pastime, so it's actually fun to find them and the humans get so happy when they see me bringing them back. It's really a blast! I got to hang out with Dancer a couple of weeks ago at the beach and around town when her puppy parent's family took me out with them. I had so much fun! I'm also really happy that Sara is my new puppy parent. I love her so much!

Hi everyone, it's Gregor here. I've gotta say, it has been a pretty fun month! It was exciting because I spent a lot of time hanging out with my puppy parent. We went to bunch of different places! I got to go to the beach and play around by the ocean. We also went hiking, which is really cool because of all the new sights and smells. I also practiced my service dog in training skills when we went to restaurants. I behaved really well and did my best to do a good job! That pretty much sums up my month, but you guys should come back next time to see what I get up to next!

Hello again, it’s Gregor the second here! This has been an exciting month. My older siblings, Annie and Curtis, found some pretty great families to go live with. I miss them, but I also got three new family members. They look a little bit different from me, with their long hair, and they can bark a bit much sometimes. However, they are pretty cute, so I let them get away with it. I’m being a good big brother right now, not rough housing or anything, but when they get older it’s on.

Hi everyone! It's Gregor the second here! I have recently changed when I go to school. I now attend school on the weekend and have two week days off where I get to hang out with my puppy parent out in society. At the K9 academy in CMC I have been concentrating only retrieval of items, turning on lights, and tugging the door open. I don't enjoy doing it as much as running and jumping up and down on planks, but I entertained my human companions educator because they asked me nicely. But I believe running planks and breaking through barriers are much more fun! Well that's all for now, I'll check in with you guys later.

Happy Valentine’s Day!! I spent my day on a date night with my handler. We went to a late movie, shared popcorn and cuddled. I hope you had a great Valentine’s Day too. In my training I have been working on turning on/off light switches and opening doors. I’m getting really good at both. I hope you check back in March to see how much I’ve learned.
