About Hana
Greetings everyone, I’m a Labrador Retriever and I was born November 15, 2018! Hana is my name, and in Hawaii that means service and work. I got named by two wonderful people who stand by that tradition, Jack and Karen, the founders of New Life K9s. I’m the newest member of the New Life service dog program and CMC, and the cutest dog your eyes will ever see! Some would say I'm a diva at times, but I call it liking things to be done my way. I enjoy running around outside with my friends and chewing on toys, but mostly I like learning and watching the seagulls roam around. Seeing the Dog Father is always fun. He also gave me the nickname Bubba. I like seeing him because he gives me so much love, plus he has the tastiest treats. I can't wait for all of you to watch my journey of becoming a service dog!

Heya everyone! It’s Hana! I’ve spent the past month growing in skills and size (I’m not such a little puppy anymore)! My teachers have been giving me so much love and doing an amazing job making sure that I learn all that I can. I can open cabinets and retrieve items and do “like me”s now! The only thing that I seem to be getting a bit stuck on is my emergency recall. I like to just dive right into things, but my teachers have been helping to manage my impulsiveness. One of my favorite activities is playing frisbee; I love to run around and try to catch it in the air! Well, until next time, many hugs and kisses from me to you.

Hi guys, it’s Hana here! I’m having a great time at CMC, and I’ve been learning some new things with my teachers! They are both so loving and caring- they’re the best! I have a new besty here now, Mr. Leon. He’s smaller than me, so I usually beat him when we play, but sometimes I let him get a few wins. I’ve been doing a bunch of work to start my journey to becoming a service dog! I have practiced identifying shapes, colors and objects and also worked on my “Like me”s, opening doors, lights, and picking up objects. It’s a lot of work, but it has been fun to learn so many new skills! I can’t wait to see what I get to do next month!
