About Jett
I really love my job! Whats not love? Every time I look at a human, they are always smiling, and I love being around all these happy people. One day, two years from my birthday, August 12, 2017, I heard I am going to be helping someone with PTSD. They said all the things I am learning will help my future human. So far, some of my skills include opening doors, carrying my leash and other objects, finding lost items, identifying colors, shapes, people, and words, and I can answer yes and no questions. I can’t wait until they see how smart I am.
From Jett's Handlers
“Jett made me become a better person and is always ready to give an endless amount of love and affection to anyone he meets. I am forever imbedded to him and NKL9s. I love you Jett...” - Tim
“ Working with Jett has been one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had the privilege of having. He’s not only super smart, friendly, and well handsome, but everyday he always gives me a reason to smile with his silly an adorable personality. Jett has given me more than I will ever be able to give back...” - Sergio

Jett here! Well, a lot has happened... I graduated as a service dog! There was even a special celebration at CTF and everything. My journey of service begins with my new family. Mike is the best! He's a retired fire captain and I get to help him in many ways. Thank you so much to everyone who made this possible, like my handlers, puppy parent family, and other supporters. I MADE IT!

Hi everyone, Jett here! Summer has been off to a great start! This month I went to a theater play. It was really fun to practice my skills around people dancing, singing, and making lots of noise. I’m learning to close locker and house doors, and turn on light switches that are higher than normal. Soon I will be matched to a veteran or first responder. It will be so special to start on my life path as a service dog!

Hi everyone! I've been going on a bunch of adventures this month. I hung out at a hotel, had fun at the beach and got to try out a hiking trip! I've been doing more chill things with my puppy raiser. We sat around at her office for what felt like forever, but I love getting spend time with her so it wasn't too bad. We also have been just relaxing at her house, which has been nice! Even though I was all scheduled to start my life of service and it didn't work out, I'm still excited to find the right person for me to help!

It's Jett! I've been having a great time hiking and refining my skills. I bring my leash to my teachers when it's time to go, walk calmly by their side, and my "FREEZE” is perfect. I've also learned to be gentle with Ned. I share my kennel with him and most of my toys. The highlight of this month was the sleepover I had with my buddy Roofus. He came to my house. We played and ate "Jiff" peanut butter; it was the best. See you next time!

Hey everybody, I hope you are all doing well! This month I got to go to the beach with Amber (a puppy raiser) and her family! It was so much fun. I've been really good at learning to settle in places outside of my comfort zone. I'm also getting better at brace, recall, and settling with the new puppy! I went to the eye doctor with my puppy raiser as well this month. That was less fun, but I was the perfect calm and confident companion. Well, that's all for now, make sure to check back in next month! Bye!

Hi I’m Jett and I am now 1 and a half years old! I go home with my mama every day and I get to spend time with my human brother and sister as well. It’s so much fun! I’m really learning what it’s like to have human siblings, sometimes they take my toys and hide them from me and I have to go look for them. I find them every time, so I win! One of my favorite things to do is to go shopping with mama. She take me to all sorts of new places. Some places smell like food and I get to sniff it all, and if I’m doing really well she even gives me treats! Especially when there is a lot of people around. I like it when she does that because I know she is paying attention to me. I have to keep her focused when we go out, if not then she gets really quiet. The best thing so far about this season is that I get to play with the water from the sky and I don’t have to wait for the sprinklers to be turned on. One morning, I was enjoying the water and my mama took out a big noisy circular thing and stuck it over our heads. I was startled at the thing at first because I was not too sure why she was putting it over our heads, so I hide out until later when it was safe. My mama even took it to work with us and showed it to all my friends. They weren’t worried about that thing at all so I guess I didn’t need to worry about it either. I gave it another try and now I don’t mind when mama put that big circular thing over our heads. One of my favorite things to do in the morning is go to work because I get to learn and play and spend my day with Tim and Sergio. They keep me safe and warm and give me all their kisses and hugs. Something new I noticed is that we don’t always play ball when we go to the grass… I don’t know what has been going on but I think they caught onto me. I love to play ball so maybe they are teaching me patience so I can be a good example to my puppy brothers. I try to be the best me everyday so everyone around me can be their best selves!

Dear Friends, first off I need to thank you all for your support! It’s been a month full of learning new activities and practicing old ones. My mommy loves me so much, she takes me everywhere when she picks me up each day! We go shopping to all types of big and small stores. I am finally friends with those shopping carts I used to think were big and mean. All thanks to the confidence exercise my handlers do with me and the confidence my mommy has in me. We also get to go to sports events and practices, as well as school meetings. All the kids adore me. My public access has gotten so good that now I get to hold my own leash! Just kidding… When I spend my days at CTF with Tim and Sergio, I love to work and learn all types of new things through "Like Me’s". Right now I have two baby brothers, Bravo and Moose who arrived not too long ago. I will lead by example to help them learn all the necessary skills in becoming an amazing service dog. Just like my big brothers Nolan, Sonny and Toby. By the way, I just turned 17 months. Only have less than 7 months until I am promoted to service dog! Tune in next month to hear more about my learning progress!

Hi everyone! Boy have I got a lot to share with you. It was a fun filled month and if anyone made it to our Demo on September 7th then you already know I…. NAILED IT! Though I did good and my dad’s were proud of me it was my mommy who stole the show (She helped me refocus because I was really distracted by Greg’s service dog Eddie who I wanted to play with). So since I have been going home with her almost every night I am happy to report that mean ole’ Walmart (a store I was really afraid of) is like a walk in the park. Yup, a message to the world; whatever you got, bring it- challenge accepted! So with that, this month has been one challenge met after another. I have a little less than a year now and everyone says they think I am ready to go now, but until then I will keep learning even more and hanging out with all my buddies. Check in with me next month, I will be the oldest lad in here now that Sonny, Nolan and Toby will be going off to Boot Camp and graduating. See you then!

Hi Friends! It's been an awesome month. I've been able to go home every day with my mommy, unlike all my other friends who only go out on the weekends. She takes me home and I get to go to stores, parks, and all types of cool public places. It's getting me ready for public access as a service dog, because I only have a year left before I graduate. The other half of my super cool days is spent with my New Life family at CTF. Tim and Sergio teach me all types of fun and exciting things. Recently, I have been working on how to read different words, count numbers and I'm like super awesome at opening lockers and getting help when someone needs it. That's what I do, I help people and give them love. ALSO, in case you didn't know, my favorite thing to do is make new friends and give kisses. I hope you can keep following me through my amazing journey towards becoming a Service Dog.
