About Lobo
Hi! My name is Lobo (L-O-B-O)! It's a Spanish name, meaning wolf. I got my name from my great, great grandfather who passed on to dog heaven. You can tell that he was the best breeder of all black labs just by looking at my slick black coat, my long legs, and cool walk.
From Lobo's Handlers
"Lobo run full of fun
He kiss me with a bliss
He hug me with a wag
He whine when left behind
All of this I dare not miss
From the love of my cute
Black lab." -Dennis M.

October 2020 Update
Today is my birthday everyone! I’d invite you to the party but papa Dennis said I have to watch my distance from everyone. Something about Kennel Cough. He also said I’d be going home to my new family this week. This might be my last chat with everyone. I don't know we'll see... Thank you everyone for checking in with me on my page! Love, the Black Diamond, Lobo.
P.s. I’m sorry but I’m taking all my treats with me!

It has been a pretty interesting month. I noticed people everywhere are wearing masks and they keep their distance from each other. When I'm with Dennis, he takes me to the dog park and I get to play for an hour. I like group activities where we learn "ick" and "like me's." Sometimes it's hard for me to settle or relax in one spot for a very long time, but Dennis seems to be happy when I do. I have plenty of new toys from uncle Kevin and New L life K9s. I love playing tug with Kevin and I love playing with my new chew ring. I have fun playing with water. I'm still trying to get used to wearing my new shoes.

This whole month is confusing. I'm taking a longer route coming back from the chow hall because I now have to go around the yard. I live in a different dorm and I love it. It's quieter and there's a room where I can learn skills, like opening/closing a door and retrieving keys. Yesterday I learned how to carry a water bottle and bring it to my handler. Man, they just don't know how super smart I am. It's funny though because they don't seem to notice. They like watching TV and talking about COVID-19. What is that thing? OK, since I now live in a different dorm, I have a nice spot where I just chill and play with my toy. So relaxing...
April 2020 Update

This month, I've been busy learning to socialize with other dogs. I met a lot of dogs this month because when my friend Kevin picks me up he takes me to the dog park. They have a big park out there and I also went to the beach and tried my swimming skill. When I'm with Papa Dennis, he tells me not to eat off the floor and not to jump on people and not to hump other puppies. Dennis taught me how to tug open a door and is teaching me how to close the door with my paws and not my forehead.
I love playing fetch with Dennis but one day he told me we can't play fetch anymore. Still, I enjoy playing on his bunk with a ball. I still like to play hide-and-seek and keep-away.

I am so happy. I have a new uncle named Kevin and he is super cool. He introduced me to a lot of objects. I did not know there are so many types of food, especially fruits.
He is so cool, and he is teaching me how to walk with the We Leash. He makes sure I don't run out the doors by teaching me patience. He asks me not to eat off the floor, and he says it's rude when I bark or jump on people. My friend Dennis said Kevin is my new puppy parent. I'm so lucky. I thought I'd never get to ride in a car anymore. I cannot wait to go out again.
I had an ear infection this month, so I wasn't able to play with or in water, which I consider fun. But it's okay because uncle Kevin takes me to the dog park and the beaches and I get to play with other dogs. I have a new playmate named Stella, and I have new toys, like the tug rope. When I'm cured, Kevin said I get to put my paws in the water. Boy I can't wait.

It is challenging what my friend Dennis wants me to do, but I think he wants me to work on my behavior. He's always saying, "You don't have to jump when you say 'hi', Lobo that's rude" or "we don't demand bark, Lobo." I don't know what it is, but this whole month I seem to have an irresistible urge to hump and play. Dennis doesn't want me to hump though. He's always saying, "we're not humping the girls." Oh this month we did an exercise with a long leash and everything. Dennis or Rob give me a tasty big jerky. It's very delicious. I hope they'll ask me again, but they only did it twice.

This month I've been working on my manners. My dad Dennis is teaching me not to jump on people whenever they greet me. He also put his two hands on me when I get excited over food or when I try to chase cats. My dad Dennis is still telling me "ick" when we are walking or when I notice something very interesting on the ground. My dad gets upset when I bark at my brothers and sisters but I can't help it 'cause I'm in my kennel and they're out playing... My favorite pastime is playing with dad at night alone in the yard with the new toys I have from Auntie Cindy. It is a big Kong with a rope tied on it that I can play tug with!

This month I've been working on a lot of "like me's." Open and closing doors, picking up objects, and I'm also learning new objects such as seasoning, soups, jalapeño, pears, raisins, but you know what, most of them I'm not allowed to eat. I've also been working on patience at the door. Nose work is my favorite 'cause I get to eat hot dogs and cheese. I have a lot of new toys which Papa Dennis would hide and make me look for them. I've been constantly being asked not to bark at my brothers and sisters...
Playing catch and keep away with Papa at night in the yard is my favorite pastime. I have this new toy Papa called Mr. Racoon, Auntie Cindy bought it for me. I have others which I will share soon as this kennel cough is over...

Hi, I'm back! Remember me? Lobo, the master of leash walking? The one with the steady trot? Well, I haven't really been working on anything, but the usual request my friend Dennis asked me. You know ick, patience, gentle, yes or no, no pulling on the leash, all the commands are easy! Dennis taught me how to walk myself with the we leash. It's so easy. I just grab it with my mouth and follow along with him. It's almost like when I help Dennis carry his lunch. I wished my friend Dennis would let me play loose and that dayroom sometimes.
My favorite pastime is chilling and food sharing with Dennis. We just kick it relaxing and eating grass. I love hide n seek and tag you're it. I love kibbles and all the treats and climbing on Dennis' bunk!
Take a look at this picture of me and my friend Roofus! I'm the one chewing on the tasty stick :)October 2019 Update

I'm Lobo and here's what I've been up to. This month I've been working on the usual. Ick, yes or no, like me's, gentle, patience, settle, and relax. My friend Dennis has been very helpful on building my confidence. Sometimes we walked on planks and stairs. How cool is that? I used to be hesitant walking on them, but now they're no biggie. I love when Dennis hides kibbles and treats inside the box. He thinks I would take a long time finding them, but I have a super sense of smell when it comes to food. My favorite pastime and games with Dennis are hide and seek, tag you're it, and I still love biting his fingers. Oops! I hate it when he gives me one kibble at a time. I'm so hungry all the time, why won't he just give it to me all at once?
September 2019 Update

Hello, it's me, Lobo! I've been learning colors, mostly yellow and blue. Sometimes I get them mixed up. But I'll get better. My friend Dennis keeps asking me to bat his hand when my KONG gets away from me. He also asks me "yes or no" when he wants to give me kibbles, which is frustrating because he knows I love kibbles. Hand those treats over! Dennis keeps repeating the word "ick" when I'm sniffing something. I don't know what's wrong with him every time he yells "ouch" when his hand is in my mouth. He tells me to be patient at every doorway. If only you knew the amount of times I hear, "please stop chewing that...it's not a chew toy." But everyday I get better and learn more things. I really love playing hide and seek and keep away before every meal. I hide under my handler's bunks and don't come out until I know for sure I'm getting food. I also stopped barking for food and I know at times not to jump for food, so I just wait patiently under the bunks.

Hi! This is Lobo, walking my tail at you with my first update. I really want to be a service dog one day, but I'm having a little difficulty getting my message across in human language. My friend Dennis is helping me work on that by asking me "yes or no" with his hands. He keeps telling me "ick" every time I put my nose into somethings interesting and he has this disgusting look when I put it in my mouth. He keeps telling me to work on my patience, but I just think he needs to work on his patiences as well. When he feeds me, he keeps saying "gentle" every time I nip his little fingers, so I bark at him, saying "I'm sorry," but he doesn't know that. I need to work on this human language. My favorite pastime is playing with my friends, chasing each other's tails. I love Kodi because he doesn't growl at me when he eats. I also love seeking games because I get to eat what I find.
