About Moose
Hello everybody, my name is Moose! I was born on September 9th 2018 and I am a chocolate lab. I love green beans, apples, and yeah pretty much anything food related. My best buddy used to be Bravo, but now it’s Ned (the new kid in town). But, of course, my two favs are Kevin and Damian! I also love going for sniffy walks and searching for weed roots to pull up and eat. They are so yummy! My life goal is to be the best service dog ever, so me and my handlers are working on all the skills that I'll need. It’s going to be a piece of cake, we got this! Thanks for looking me up! Check back in later for future updates.
Signing out,
Moose (aka Bean)
From Moose's Handlers
"When life gives me a sad country song, Moose (aka my Lil' Bean) gives me a Bruno Mars song. He fills me with love, joy, encouragement and strength to face each day. Not only that, but he is helping me grow into the father that I need to be for my children. Patient, understanding, lovable - the list goes on. There's just not enough room to express how much he means to me. I love you, my Lil' Bean." - Damian
"Moose means the world to me, he represents love, devotion and friendship. He gives purpose and meaning to my life in prison. Moose gives me an opportunity to gain back my humanity. By caring for him, teaching him, and loving him, I feel whole once more. Thank you NLK9s for such an amazing dog. I love you Moose." - Kevin

Hi everyone! I have been getting ready to graduate! Kevin and Damion have been working on my graduation video to give to my future recipient. I have been spending lots of time bonding with my handlers before I leave! They keep telling me I’m the best chocolate lab ever. They might be right. Well, I’ll talk to everyone soon.

I'm visiting all the usual spots in town with Dr. Bright. We went to Costco, Lowes, Home Depot, and the grocery store. I spent a nice holiday weekend with the Bright family and came back a very happy dog. I've been working on my emergency recall and leash-walking and proper behavior in public. I'm doing so well on my brace, opening and closing lockers/ doors, and retrieving my leash, and carrying objects. I'm hoping for more time with my puppy raiser Dr. Bright and getting more exposure on the street!

This month, I got to hang out at CTF a lot. I went to a medical building and got to say hello to some nursing staff and doctors. I got to go to some restaurants and a yoga class (my best position was downward dog obviously). Whenever I meet new people, I always want to bark and say hello. I'm learning that I don't need to bark hello. I'm great at opening doors by tugging on a rope. Thanksgiving is next month. I don't know what my favorite dish will be yet, maybe everything? Check out this picture of me and my bff, Nolan, napping!

This is Moose barking your way! I visited my first restaurant and rodeo with my puppy parent! I even got to wear my friend's cowboy hat. Everyone said I did amazing at both events. At school, I learned how to catch a football out of the air and bring it back for another throw. I finally understand the concept of removing first shoe-laces, then the boot, and finally the socks. This will come in handy for my future first responder or veteran. I have a new sister named Suzie and she's a 4-month old golden retriever. I love being a big brother! That's it for now, so see you next time.

Hey, it’s Moose! I’ve been super busy going to the dog park, grocery store, and doctor’s office with my puppy parent. Lately I’ve been working on my retrieving skills, like grabbing an item on the shelf and giving it to someone nearby. I’m also learning to carry objects while walking on-leash! Next month, I hope to go to the beach because I’ve never been. I’ll keep you updated!

Hello everyone, it's me Moose! It's been a while, so I have so much to tell you. I been going to a lot of places, like the doctor's office, church and the dog park! I also have been getting to hang out with my friend Nolan! We have been having so much fun running around and playing. This month I worked on learning how to open and close doors. This way I'll be able to help my future first responder or veteran get around or get things from cabinets. Next month there is going to be another demonstration and graduation, so we are all working hard to get ready for that. You guys should come check back in then so you can hear all about it!
