About Nala
Hi I'm Nala, my name means successful, and that is exactly what I am determined to be. Though, maybe it should have been "Rowdy." As you can see, I am the prettiest girl ever. What you may not be able to see is how confident and assertive I am. I know what I need, and I am not afraid to let you know. I love, love, love to play with all of my bigger brothers, and I can certainly hold my own. I love to cuddle and give kisses. I am extremely smart and learn just by watching others. I am destined to be the best helper my recipient will ever have, and I believe I can be. Thank you for supporting me, and believing in me too.

Hi everyone! It's your favorite little princess Nala! I hope you are all safe and healthy and getting to go back to work. I love to work and I think I would go crazy if they said I couldn't. I've been working hard the last few months on colors, easy leash walking, and taking off shoes, socks, and a new jacket, (which I am great at.) I've also worked on getting help or just getting a certain person, opening doors, remembering where I left a certain ball the day before, and a lot of other stuff.
I get to go out and see my Puppy Parent family this month. I missed them so, so much. I love, love my Joey, but I have been stuck in here with all these boys for a while. Well, I am going to get back to work now. I hope you guys can too. Thank you for all you do for us.

May 2020 Update
Hi everyone! So happy that everyone is safe and healthy in here. I hope it is the same for you guys out there. We have still gotten to do a lot of learning this month. I got to teach all the boys how t take off shoes and socks. Next, I am going to teach them how to know the difference between two numbers. They are a little slower, but I am sure they will catch up.
I have been learning to play paw-ball (soccer) with Joey and it is my favorite thing to do right now. Well. eating treats is #1, then paw-ball. Okay, eating treats, chewing rawhides, but paw-ball is in the top three for sure! I am very lucky to get to shelter in place where my front yard is a soccer field. I hope you all have learned some new stuff over the last few months. Make sure to no forget the good stuff as we all start going back out. And be safe so you stay healthy. Love you guys!

Hi everyone! It's Nala! I'm not so little anymore because I turned one on the 21st. Well, actually seven because I am a dog! We had a HUGE party on the 22nd to celebrate my birthday and both my brother's, Delta, and Koa. I got a very special breakfast and dinner. And chef Frankie made us each a giant cake! It was the best cake I have ever had! Now I am exercising to make up for my cheat day. Actually, it was really like a cheat week because everyone did something nice for me that week. I have been staying with Joey since COVID-19 started. I miss my Puppy Parent family so much, but I want them to be safe and I love my handler Joey too. Well, most of the time! :) We are all safe and healthy here. I hope this finds you all the same. I'll write again soon! I almost forgot. I got a new hot pink harness, my favorite color. Thank you all so much for what you do for me.

March 2020 Update
Hi everyone!
It's your favorite little girl Nala! Well, I am not so little anymore in age. That's because I turn one-year-old on April 21st! I am so excited for my party. My brothers Delta and Koa will share their birthdays too, so we will have our party together with all the other boys. We are each getting our own cakes though. I can't wait! My handler says you only turn one once so we will have the BEST first birthday ever! I hope you are all OK out there. I have seen more news about the coronavirus than I would like to, but I am not getting scared. I actually love to shelter in place because my favorite toys are in my crate. And my handlers always loves to cuddle and play when we aren't having fun learning.
So I am enjoying myself as usual! I keep trying to convince my handler to leave all of my food out, but he says he is positive that I won't be able to return any of it. He's silly sometimes but we will get through this together because we have each other and we love each other no matter how much time we spend together. I hope you guys are sheltered up with someone you love and they know you love them. If you're not sure, lick them on the face. That always works for me when I want someone to know that I love them, live them, forgive them, say I'm sorry, for anything really. Well, I will write again soon! Thank you all for all you do. I wish I could lick your faces too!
Love,

February 2020 Update
Hi everyone!
It's your favorite little lady Nala! This month has been interesting, to say the least. I am maturing a lot in a short period of time and it is helping me to be more calm, cool, and collected. Even with the people I am always the most excited to see, well almost with them, but we are getting there. This is a process that takes a while to develop so the consistency the handlers have been giving me is really paying off. I love them all so much. And all of you too for all your support and how I know you are cheering me on. It really means the world to me. I know I could not do this without so thank you so much. Together we are in the business of saving lives and that is exactly what we are doing.
This month I have started to do some more cool stuff. I have learned how to take off a show. It's really fun because I know it is helpful. And I have gotten better at taking off socks too. My leash manners and greeting people skills have improved too because we keep working on them. I just have to learn how to not get so excited when I see my favorite people and we will have it down.
Well, that's it for now, but I will talk to you all again real soon! Love, Nala.

January 2020 Update
Hi, everyone!
It's everyone's favorite little lady, Nala. We are off to a great start in this New Year 2020. I'm learning more numbers, but 2020 is a really big one. Another big number is 1 because I will have my first birthday on April 21st. I'm so excited! Talking about being excited, my handler is helping me to not be so crazy when I see my friends. It's been hard for me because I love them so much, but my handler says being calm will help me make new friends and keep the ones I already have. I believe him because I know he wants the best for me. I have gotten really good at opening doors, so now I am learning to close them, too. I am also learning to turn on a light.
Who knew the stuff humans do every day could be so fun? I think my greatest achievement this month is being able to see birds and not chase them. Oh, I really wanted to, but I was able to stay calm and watch them eat bread. Silly birds! Don't they know it could make them sick? Well, I hope you all had a great Christmas and are having as good a New Year as I am! Talk to you all soon!

Hi everyone! I am so so excited for my first Christmas ever! I got to meet Santa and sit on his lap, too. All it took was one long look into my beautiful golden eyes and then he promised to take me off the naughty list and bring me something good. It's been a wild month, I don't know what it is, but it's like everytime I see someone I know I just get so excite to see them and almost can't help myself from jumping all over them. Good thing my handler is helping me to calm myself so I don't kick someone to death. We've been working on meeting people and saying "hi" in nice way, so I've got a bunch new friends and I've been able to keep my old ones, too. We got some new stuff this month. I have learned how to pen a door and then I learned how to get a pill pottle from a closed cabinet. It was really fun to do and my handler said it could save someone's life one day, so I plan to work on it some more so I don't forget it. I've gotten the numbers 1,2,3,4, and 5 down, now I am working on 6,7,8,9 and 10. I love the bigger number because the kibble piles get bigger and bigger and bigger! Well, I hope you all have a Merry Christmas. If you think you are on the naughty list like I was, just go talk to Santa! He's real nice.

It's been another awesome month! I have gotten 4 new little brothers. I found them to be a little annoying at first, but have come to realize they don't mean too. I need to be a big sister to help because they need my help. I did not come to this conclusion over night, so I have had work on my manners a lot this month, but I've also gotten better at my numbers, and my colors this month. I am excited to learn my A, B, C's and how I can help my handlers.
I love to get ready in the mornings. I will share how that's going with you some time, but before I go I want you all to know how thankful I am for your giving to me and this program. It's not only their helping to give me and my handers purpose, it's saving lives, so thank you all so so much. I will write again soon!

Hi everybody! It has been an awesome month. I am learning a bunch more stuff like numbers and colors. We practice numbers using kibble, so I love it. I am also learning how to use my we-leash. It really makes me feel confident and I like to show off to the boys. I turned 6 months old on 10/21/19, so I got to celebrate my half birthday. And guess what?! My puppy raiser is taking me trick or treating on Halloween an I get to dress up and everything. It's going to be so much fun. Well, thank you all for all your help. I will write again soon!

Hello world! It's everyone's favorite lil lady, Nala. It's been a really exciting month. I am learning so much. Everyone knows I can now hold my own with my bigger, sticky brothers, but I am learning to be confident around new dogs I meet and play with. I tend to get really happy when I see people I know and pull on the leash, so my handler is helping to remind me to be easy and to act like a lady. I am getting better and better. I am also learning to make choices for myself and I love it! So far my favorite exercise is when I get to choose whether I want cheese or peanut butter. Either way is a win! Thank you all for your help. I couldn't do it without you. I will write again soon.
Luv ya,

August 2019 Update
This is Nala barking at you with my first update ever! I am learning to walk easy on the leash right now, but I already know what to do with my “we leash” and I love to use it. I am learning what all of the things in my current home are and what they are used for, sometimes by what they are not used for first. Also, I am learning what to not put in my mouth. I am a puppy so I am very curious, but I also learn very fast. My favorite thing in the whole wide world right now is rawhide. If you put a little peanut butter on it and hold it for me you will become one of my best friends. I enjoy my naps, and I love my fan. Come back next month for another update!
