Hi I'm Nelson. I'm a very well-behaved, (wink wink), Golden Retriever. I love to play with my brothers and little sister. Sometimes I give my handlers a hard time because I know they need it for their own growth. I know they can take it. I have a really big, green yard to play in. Sometimes there are lots of humans out there, but when it's playtime, I hardly notice them because I enjoy playing with my other brothers and sister. Mostly, I enjoy helping someone who is struggling. Little did I know I'm a very good teacher, but some of the other dogs might say different. But it's okay. I still love them.

I am going to be moving on soon. I can feel it and sense it. I’ll be going to my forever place. I’ve been here at PVSP for 2 years. I’ll miss my brother, Zach, friends, and handlers but I know there’s more to life than this. I am excited to see what it’s all about. I know my handler Chad will be okay, and he is on the right path now. I’d like to think I had something to do with that, he always tells me that I do. Goodbye PVSP, hello world!
May 2021 Update
Hi, everyone. I began to notice that one of my handlers Chad was not feeling very well. I knew he needed my help so I’ve been paying close attention to him. He has needed my help a few times to get up on his feet and I am always happy to help him with my strong back and legs. Chad sees I am helping him to heal just by being with him. Call me Dr. Nelson! Besides helping people, I love playing with my Brother Zach. It is my favorite thing to do. Talk to you next month.

November 2020 Update
I’ve been minding my manners, especially when I get really excited about seeing someone that I really, really love! I’ve been getting ready for the PVSP Halloween costume contest. I am going to be Zorro because of my adventurous spirit and suave charm. I know it will be fun! Wish me luck!
I’ve been enjoying playing with my brother, Zach. We do a lot of wrestling and chilling.
October 2020 Update
I have been practicing my Ps and Qs. I think that my handlers forgot what's it like to go from an angsty teenager to an adult. I sense a change coming soon and I hope it's a positive one. I know it's been a ruff year but we can pull together and make it better! Let's pull all of our positive thoughts so we can do this!
I love to play, play, play! I eat, sleep, and sniff. I also try to catch that ever-elusive gopher. Well until next time!

August 2020 Update
I've been chillin' and doing my thing. I've been trying to control that irresistible urge to jump up and put my paws on people that I like! I know this is very important so I have been trying my very very best. It's been very hot over here so I have been making sure I stay hydrated and I've also been resting on cool concrete floors whenever I get the chance. I've also been playing with all my other dog friends. Until next month, take care and be safe!
July 2020 Update
Every day, Monday through Friday, it's something new. After morning playtime we all go to the gymnasium and work on our daily lessons, like open door, go to, go get help, colors, light switch, and socks. Didn't anyone tell these guys that school is out for the summer? And where are we anyway? Death Valley? It's hot! Good thing my handler has an extra fan. Oh, and this place is a gopher hunter's paradise. The holes are everywhere and I love it! My favorite things are eating string cheese and playing with my brother Zach.

May 2020 Update
Thus past month, all of us dogs here at PVSP have been working on a variety of things like "go get," "colors," "yes/no," "brace," "open and close door," and "we-leash." Gosh, we've been busy and learning/practicing lots of stuff. Personally, I've been working on being more patient with the younger pups here, which can at times make me appear to be a bully, but really I am just being a big bro--no harm intended. Hopefully I can see my Puppy Parent soon! My brother Zach and I play and wrestle in the grass everyday. It's the best!
Well, hello. I am working on the same thing you all are working—PATIENCE! Now I love my handlers, Chad and Ernesto, but we all need a break occasionally if ya know what I mean. Seriously— we're all good here, as long as we have kibble and biscuits, we're good, right? It's not as if we need toilet paper. This is no vacation. We still have to do our work! Be safe, ya'll! I look forward to playtime with my brother Zach, but I also love my buddle time with my two handlers.
