Meet Ikaika
Ikaika was born on 12/2/2021. He was named by Pleasant Valley State Prison Captain Kuhn and NLK9s handlers. His name means strength in Hawaiian and his nickname is Kai! Kai joined our team at PVSP in February 2022.

Hello world! Wow! I learned a great new way to communicate with my person! All I have to do is 'alert' him for everything I want and need! How cool.
Next month, I can't wait to continue my nose work games. My sniffer is learning to find all kinds of cool stuff.

November 2022 Update
Hello world! Kai here. November has been a success here at CMC West. The team is showing amazing progress with the new youngsters. The little buggers are a handful, but I see lots of potential and a bright future of service in the little guys. Kai, over and out.

WOW! This has been a busy month. I had so much fun dressing up as a hot dog for halloween. Everyone had such nice things to say about how cool I looked. I got to see Ruthie graduate and two other awesome dogs begin their life of service to those in need. I can’t wait to be like them one day! I even got the chance to show off some of the great things I’ve been learning with all of the amazing humans at NLK9s at graduation. Everyone seemed so impressed and I felt so proud of myself. What an awesome month this has been!
