About Zeus
My name is Zeus! I'm curious and affectionate, enjoy meeting people, experiencing new places, and could never get enough treats. I get pleasure in sunbathing, cuddling, learning, and sniffy walks. I love running around in the soccer field, chasing as/or teasing others with a tug, ball, toy, or raw hide because all you'll see are my long caramel ears, head, back, and just maybe my freckles along the bridge of my nose.
From Zeus' Handlers
"I didn't realize that Zeus would help me restore that child I left behind so long ago, by rewarding me with a clean slate and unconditional love with every embrace and/or lick, and more importantly giving me a sense of purpose." -José V.

November 2021 Update
Hello, everybody! This has been a fun month for me. We recently celebrated Thanksgiving. I loved all of the extra treats I got that day. I've been working on improving the following skills: sit, stay, down, come, go in, here, jump on/off, and calm leash walking. I've been making more progress and only using verbal commands. I still watch out for my dad's body language though.
My new favorite thing is working on food puzzles! If there is food, it's for me! My handlers Johnny and Jimmy showed me how awesome puzzles are and I'm so glad they did. I'm looking forward to serving my future recipient. Well, take care for now!

Hi, everybody! Well, this mouth has been a real joy. I’m getting to know our cutest and newest puppies. I've been playing and helping them learn new skills. It's been so much fun and tiring all at once!
I've especially loved spending the weekends with my puppy parent, Mrs. Flores. I’m looking forward to getting to go to a dog swimming playdate in the near future. Talk to you all next month!

August 2021 Update
Hi guys! Zeus here again! Well, this month has been a fun month! I picked up these new skill things called Touch and walk with me. These guys are giving me plenty of treats! So I love it! I have been spending a lot of quality time with both of my dad’s Kevin and Damian. And I have gotten better at not eating off the floor, not counter surfing, and staying out of trash cans! Even though they smell …SOOOOOOooooooooo Goooooooooddd….. Next month I am looking forward to learning new skills and spending time with my new Mommy. I hope you check out my next month’s update. Until then, take care.

Hi everyone! Hopefully all my fans and followers out there are doing well. So let me get you all caught up with all the latest info in the wide world of Zeus. Just in case you haven't heard the news, there is no longer a North team or a South team at CTF. We are now just one big NLK9s super team! That's right! Watch your back CMC, let the healthy competition begin! It's been really awesome here at the B facility with all my new brothers and uncles on the team. I'm already learning so many new things like how to open human-sized doors and retrieving a cane. I'm also getting plenty of outside socialization these days. I just returned from a 10-day trip with my puppy raiser. I got to go to Alcatraz and a steakhouse! I love steak!
Now that I'm home, it's time to get down to studying and becoming a life-saving service dog. I would also like to welcome the dog handlers from graduating service dog, Moose, to team Zeus! Moose is an awesome dog! I hope I can be like him and go on to serve someone in need. So until next time, peace, health, and love.

March 2021 Update
Hello to all my fans out there! Just a reminder in case you forgot, I’m 2 years old now. It was my birthday on March 24th and if you absentmindedly missed my big day, that’s okay. I’m a very forgiving dog. All belated gifts of toys and yummy treats are still currently being accepted by my entourage. Sorry, I mean my handlers :)
I would like to welcome my new puppy raiser, nurse Karen Becker, to our team. I’m looking forward to forming an incredible bond with her and her family as we explore the world outside of prison together. So many new places to go, see, sniff, and the opportunities for new smells in the air are endless. Hopefully, there is not a lot of food on the ground out there like there is here at the prison because I’m still working on my ICK. I’m an open and honest dog who will be the first to share what I need help with. You just have to listen to my voice. I love you Robert you're my best friend.

February 2021 Update
Hi everyone! It’s me Zeus puppy! I want to give a big shout-out to all the other bond-based-choice-taught dogs out there and hope that everyone from our NLK9s family is healthy and safe from the Corona Virus. Just Recently our team here at south got sick from COVID 19 so I got to take care of my best friend Rob while he didn’t feel too good. I hang out with him right by his side the whole time we were in something they call a Quarantine-although to me it just looked like another building. Rob said that I was a hero to all the sick inmates there because we would walk around the dayroom and say hi and bring them love. Rob shared with me that when I graduate it's going to be my life work to shammy love with same and help them each and every day to feel better. Spreading my love is something I do best, just ask Rob he wouldn’t be the man he is today without my love.
Love,

Hey everyone! I hope you are all having a safe and joyous holiday season. 2020 has been difficult but I know 2021 will bring us better days. I want to share with you all the news that my dad and best friend Jose are going home to be with their family. I love you, Jose, you will always have a special place in my heart. I hope all your dreams come true and you find what you are looking for in life.
Uncle Rob shared something with me that I want to pass on to you. Just because we have to say goodbye, doesn't mean that the love between a dog and his person is forgotten. A loving bond between the two could never be severed by the absence of time or distance. It's something that will forever be in our hearts. I have you Jose- your puppy always, Zeus. Happy new year!
