About Zach
Hi my name is Mr. Zach. I'm a Golden Retriever. I was born on December 1, 2018. If you ask my handler, he'll say I am the smartest dog in the whole wide world. I could not agree with him more. I love to play. I am very silly. I like to impersonate Michael Phelps with my version of the breast stroke. I am in the process of becoming a service dog, so I'm being taught a few things. But if you ask me, I'm the one teaching my handlers a thing or two, like compassion, patience, understanding and love.

May 2020 Update
It's time to check in again! I'm doing amazing and having lots and lots of fun. We go to class every day where the guys teach us all kinds of fun stuff like "go get colors" and "like me," just name to a few. I love how excited everyone gets when we do things. You should see them clap and cheer. It's so silly but I love it. I love all the dogs but I have to say my brother Nelson is my favorite. We can roll around the yard all day long.

Hello, it's me, Zach—also known as the handsome one. This past month has been so fun. I've really got this self-control thing down. I love my playtime, let me tell you! I get all excited to play with all the other dogs. But Richard takes off my harness and leash, then gives me a minute to get my self under control, THEN finally, I get to go play! I don't even pull anymore during playtime. This is awesome! I hope each of you is hanging in there, and I'll talk to you next month.

Hello there! It's me, Zach. It's been another exciting month here at school. Can you believe I've been here for nine months now?! I don't like to brag, but I've got this leash walking thing under control. I make Richard walk right next to me. One thing you should know about me is I'm oh so humble in an amazing kind of way. I'm working on this thing called "like me." I like to see all the fellas (handlers) do "like me" because they look silly, but I love them all. Life is beautiful and there is a lot to be thankful for. I learned to read three names: Richard, Cheryl, and Zach. I really love to hang out in my crate because it's my cool little spot to get away and do my overnight learning. That's all for now!

Another month has passed here at Pleasant Valley! I'm excited to say I'm having so much fun. I'm learning how to behave in public. I can still have fun and jump on my handler Richard but there is a time and place for all that. I'm working really hard not to jump on my two-legged friends during greetings but I love the people so much. I'll figure it out with your guy's help. I learned how to open up a cupboard. I'm learning how to turn on a light. I love to wrestle with Richard. That's one of the times I'm allowed to jump all over him. I love him just as much as he loves me, no doubt.

Hello all my fans. It's me Zach once again to let you know what I've been up to this past month. I've been working real hard on my manners, but I'll behest with all of you. I'm trying hard not to jump on anyone. I just get so excited sometimes I forget my manners, but I'll get control of that soon. This month, I learned how to walk backwards and open doors. I got this leash walking thing down. I'm actually walking Richard around. :P I love playing with my buddy Carson. I get my other brother Nelson all to my own on the weekends. I love all the other dogs, but those are my bros.

It's that time of the month for me to check in again. This past month has been ruff. I got neutered on the 6th. I don't know whose idea that was, but NOT COOL! Then I had to run around with a big 'ol silly cone on my head. Now that was just wrong. The only good things is I got a lot of hugs and kisses. A whole lot of TLC, so it made it easier. I learned how to open doors and walk backward. My favorite treats are milk bones, I love to play with Parker, and my boys are Carson and Nelson!'
Check out this picture of me wrestling with Jimmy! I obviously won :)

Hello to all my friends, family, family, and fans. This is your boy Zach checking in again. We can all check out another month of this journey we are taking together. Some of you know me as the rebel loitering at your local public aisle ways. I've learned to no longer do that, someone may trip over me. I now go to a convenient, safe spot, so if you need me check under the table YO! Also when I go on walks I will have either one of my two biggest fans with me Rick or Kenny. A lot of people find it funny to see me taking these guys on walks and taking them places. Someone has to do it. If I let them stray too far they may get in trouble. I have them wrapped around my paw. I've also been working on not being rude by begging when people are eating. Sometimes I get real excited when I see people and fight the urge to jump on them to give them love. I learned that's also rude. To sum this monthly check up in one sentence, I would say I am happy, loved, and destined for great things. Happy Holidays!

Hello it's me, Zach! This is my monthly check in. I've had lots and lots of fun this month. I've learned a few colors, yay colors!! Pink, yellow, blue, white, an black. Those colors are cool, but someone needs to teach me the color of that yummy kibble, because that stuff there is my favorite color. All you people on two legs are the best! I can't get enough hugs and kisses from all of you. This is Zach and I'm out of here.

Let's give this update a go. My name is Zach. Life is good! I am a hard worker and I love what I do. I have a whole team of dedicated men and women who love me unconditionally and we strive together to learn the skills to assist a person in need. As of now, I am learning my left and right, how to walk easy on my leash, patience at entries and exits, freeze and god, and how to greet people properly. I eat well, sleep well, and play hard! I also get a lovely vacation every weekend with my puppy parent. I will continue to learn and I am excited at what the future holds. I'm out for now. Live long and prosper! Your friend, Zach.
